Research Promotion Unit 【Laboratory of Embryonic and Genetic Engineering, Advanced Research Initiative, Laboratory of Data Analysis and Infrastructure】
Overview
The Laboratory of Embryonic and Genetic Engineering and the Laboratory for Technical Support were established in 2000 as common facilities of the Institute of Biomedical Research and Technology. They were integrated into the Research Promotion Unit in April 2008, and will support research activities as the Laboratory of Embryonic and Genetic Engineering and the Laboratory for Technical Support, respectively.
Under the supervision of Unit Director Shinichiro Sawa, the Unit provides state-of-the-art research support services with a staff of 19, including 4 technical staff and technical assistants. In addition, approximately 40 pieces of common equipment owned by the institute are centrally located and maintained in the common equipment room.
In order to provide many researchers with access to the Laboratory of Embryonic and Genetic Engineering, the Advanced Research Initiative and the Laboratory of Data Analysis and Infrastructure, we also hold user information sessions and workshops on common equipment.
