Medical Research Center Initiative for High Depth Omics
The Medical Institute of Bioregulation (MIB), supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), is advancing the "Medical Research Center Initiative for High Depth Omics" (initiated in FY 2022) in collaboration with the Joint Usage/Research Centers of three domestic universities, aiming to elucidate the mechanisms underlying socially significant diseases such as infectious diseases, allergies, and cancer by collecting and integrating big data from single-cell and single-molecule analyses.
In collaboration with four universities, with Kyushu University at its core (Tokyo Medical and Dental University, University of Tokushima, and Kumamoto University), the Medical Institute of Bioregulation has established the "High-Depth Omics Science Center." Through this center, we aim to accelerate technological and human resource development in an integrated manner among the collaborating institutions. At the same time, we will standardize and model the obtained big data, ensuring its continuous dissemination worldwide. By leading international research, we strive to contribute to understanding the essence of life phenomena and overcoming diseases.
