The 34th Hot Spring Harbor International Symposium
From July 4 (Friday) to July 6 (Sunday), 2025, the MIB-ASPIRE Glia International Joint Symposium—the 34th Hot Spring Harbor International Symposium and the 2nd ASPIRE Glia Symposium—took place over three days at University of Freiburg in Germany, as a collaborative initiative between the ASPIRE Program for Promoting International Joint Research “ASPIRE-Glia”.
This marked the first time symposium that was held overseas. Conducted in a hybrid format with both on-site and online participation, the event welcomed 17 speakers from Japan and 8 from overseas to deliver cutting-edge talks on the forefront of glial cell research.
The symposium was a great success, with lively discussions among participants ranging from graduate students to principal investigators, fostering the exchange of ideas and laying the groundwork for future collaborations. It also served as an excellent opportunity to showcase the high level of research and scientific engagement at Kyushu University and in Japan to our international colleagues.
With a total of approximately 150 participants joining both on-site and online, the symposium concluded successfully. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who contributed to its success.
